1. MY NAPARC-PLUS WEB DIRECTORY, PART ONE: OPC CONGREGATIONS
NAPARC stands for "North American Presbyterian and Reformed
Council." Following is the basis of the Council:
"Confessing Jesus Christ as only Savior and Sovereign Lord
over all of life, we affirm the basis of the fellowship of
Presbyterian and Reformed Churches to be full commitment to
the Bible in its entirety as the Word of God written, without
error in all its parts and to its teaching as set forth in
the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, the Canons
of Dordt, the Westminster Confession of Faith, and the
Westminster Larger and Shorter Catechisms...."
Here are the member congregations:
Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church
Korean-American Presbyterian Church
Orthodox Presbyterian Church
Presbyterian Church in America
Reformed Church in the U.S.
Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America
I'm in the process of putting together a directory of churches
in conservative Reformed denominations (primarily those in
NAPARC) that have Web pages. To addition to the six NAPARC
denominations, I also intend to include in my own directory
congregations that belong to the United Reformed Churches in
North America, a denomination which holds similar convictions.
The first installment to the Web directory of churches is
a list of congregations in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church
that are on the Internet. (Please notify me of any errors
that need to be corrected or additions that should be made
in the list. Thanks!)
Here's the denominational home page for the OPC:

http://opc.org/
As an ordained minister in the OPC, I may be not without bias,
but I think that Webmaster Stephen Pribble has done a rather
outstanding job with this Web site. For example, note these
helpful resources on the site:

2. SOME T-SHIRT SLOGANS FOR COMPUTER NERDS
Strictly speaking, this item is "just for fun" and has little
to do with "Christians and the Internet," but to be on the
Internet, you need to have a computer, and Christians -- who
realize that God is greater than technology ("to err is human:
it takes a computer to really mess things up!") -- may enjoy
the following humor, some of which dethrones computers from the
godlike status some people in our society have given them.
For these "Nerd T-Shirt Slogans" I'm indebted to Micky Plant, a
LangaList reader. They appeared in the most recent LangaList,
which you'll find at this address:
The LangaList: July 31, 2000
http://www.langa.com/newsletters/2000/2000-07-31.htm
1. Cannot find REALITY.SYS. Universe halted.
2. Computers make very fast, very accurate mistakes.
3. Computers are not intelligent. They only think they are.
4. My software never has bugs. It just develops random features.
5. C:\WINDOWS C:\WINDOWS\GO C:\PC\CRAWL
6. C:\DOS C:\DOS\RUN RUN\DOS\RUN
7. <-------- The information went data way --------
8. Best file compression around: "DEL" = 100% compression.
9. The definition of an upgrade: Take old bugs out, put new
ones in.
10. BREAKFAST.COM Halted...Cereal Port Not Responding.
11. The name is Baud......, James Baud.
12. Access denied--nah nah nah na nah nah!
13. C:\> Bad command or file name! Go stand in the corner.
14. Bad command. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaay....
15. Why doesn't DOS ever say "EXCELLENT command or filename!"
16. As a computer, I find your faith in technology amusing.
17. Southern DOS: Y'all reckon? (Yep/Nope)
18. Backups? We don' NEED no steenking backups.
19. E Pluribus Modem.
20. ... File not found. Should I fake it? (Y/N)
21. Ethernet (n): something used to catch the Etherbunny.
22. A mainframe: The biggest PC peripheral available.
23. Does fuzzy logic tickle?
24. A computer's attention span is as long as its power cord.
25. 11th commandment - Covet not thy neighbor's system.
These slogans help us, I think, maintain a sense of perspective
concerning the limited powers of technology. Computers are not
altogether trustworthy or infallible, but our God is (and so is
His Word, where you'll find not "nerdy slogans," but "great and
precious promises" -- see 2 Peter 1:4).
Enjoy!

3. ONE WAY CATI READERS CAN HELP CATI: OFFER SUGGESTIONS!
Have you discovered a Web site (or more than one) that other
people may find helpful or enjoyable? Share that information!
Send your suggestions to me at cati@traver.org, and the sites
may be included in a future issue of CATI.
For example, recently two different CATI readers sent me notes
about some useful sites either containing sermons in RealAudio
or providing step-by-step instructions on how pastors can go
about making their sermons available on the Internet so that
people can listen to them on the Web. (I hope to share that
information with you in an article on RealAudio and MP3 in the
next issue of CATI!)
One topic in which I'm interested at the present time is good
Internet sites for kids, but feel free to offer any suggestions
you may consider helpful. And let me know if I may mention
your name as the source of the information or comment, because
it is my policy not to mention names of people who contribute
suggestions unless I have specific permission from them in
advance to do so.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts on possible future material
for CATI!
